Ferrari has officially entered a bold new era with the unveiling of the Ferrari Luce, the brand’s first-ever four-door fully electric vehicle, launched in Rome at the iconic Vela di Calatrava – Città dello Sport venue.
The historic debut marks a symbolic return for Ferrari to the city where the brand secured its first victory in 1947 with the Ferrari 125 S driven by Franco Cortese. Nearly eight decades later, Ferrari is once again redefining automotive innovation with the introduction of its most advanced electric vehicle yet.
Ferrari Luce introduces a new chapter for Maranello
The Ferrari Luce represents the latest evolution of Ferrari’s multi-energy strategy first outlined during the 2022 Capital Markets Day. Rather than replacing traditional combustion engines, Ferrari says electrification expands its possibilities in performance, design, and driving experience.
Designed and engineered entirely in Maranello, the Ferrari Luce features over 60 new patents and combines Ferrari’s racing heritage with next-generation electric mobility technology.
The name “Luce,” meaning “light,” symbolizes clarity, innovation, and Ferrari’s future-focused vision for high-performance mobility.
Ferrari Luce performance and electric powertrain
The Ferrari Luce is powered by four independent electric motors, one for each wheel, delivering a combined output of 1,050 cv.
Key performance figures include:
- 0–100 km/h in 2.5 seconds
- 0–200 km/h in 6.8 seconds
- Top speed exceeding 310 km/h
- Range of over 530 km
- 122 kWh battery pack
- 800V electrical architecture
- Fast charging up to 350 kW
Ferrari says the advanced electric architecture allows unprecedented torque vectoring and dynamic control, delivering a driving experience that remains true to Ferrari’s motorsport DNA.
First Ferrari with four doors and five seats
The Ferrari Luce introduces a completely new platform for the brand, featuring four doors and five seats for the first time in Ferrari history.
The vehicle was designed in collaboration with LoveFrom, the creative collective founded by Sir Jony Ive and Marc Newson. Ferrari describes the design language as a “pure glass house silhouette,” combining aerodynamic efficiency with luxury and spaciousness.
A standout design feature is the seamless glass structure extending below the belt line, paired with floating aerodynamic wings and transparent lighting panels that preserve the vehicle’s minimalist aesthetic.
The Ferrari Luce also debuts the largest staggered wheel setup ever used on a production Ferrari road car, with 23-inch front wheels and 24-inch rear wheels.
Ferrari focuses on sound, comfort, and driving experience
Despite being fully electric, Ferrari placed major emphasis on delivering an emotional driving experience.
The Ferrari Luce features a patented sound engineering system that captures real mechanical vibrations and amplifies them naturally to preserve authentic driver engagement.
Inside, the cabin includes:
- Samsung-developed digital displays
- Mechanical buttons and rotary controls
- 21-speaker premium audio system
- Recycled anodized aluminum
- Corning Gorilla Glass surfaces
- Premium leather materials
Ferrari says the Luce is also the most comfortable Ferrari ever built, thanks to advanced NVH optimization, active suspension technology, and an elastically mounted rear subframe.
Advanced aerodynamics and efficiency
Aerodynamics played a central role in the development of the Ferrari Luce.
The EV features active aerodynamic grilles, adaptive ride height, intelligent thermal management systems, and highly optimized airflow surfaces to reduce drag while maximizing efficiency.
Ferrari claims the Luce achieves the lowest drag coefficient ever recorded on a Ferrari road car.
The extensive use of recycled aluminum also reduces production-related CO₂ emissions by around 70 percent of the vehicle’s overall weight contribution.
Ferrari’s electric future begins
The Ferrari Luce signals a major transformation for Ferrari while preserving the performance-focused identity that defines the brand.
By combining electric technology with Italian craftsmanship, advanced engineering, and motorsport expertise, Ferrari aims to establish a new benchmark in the luxury electric performance vehicle segment.
The launch of the Ferrari Luce confirms that Ferrari’s future will not abandon heritage but instead reinterpret it for a new era of mobility.
